Champagne Jacquesson is a Champagne producer in Dizy in the Marne Valley (just north of Épernay), with a relatively short history going back to 1978, when the Chiquet family bought the marque and moved it to their family estate. In 1988, Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet took over and have overseen a rapid rise to prominence: in the 2005 La Revue Des Vins De France, Jacquesson was rated third best of all houses after Bollingerand Krug.

There is no conventional non-vintage cuvée – instead Jacquesson makes the Cuvée 700, which is more of a series of yearly releases blended from several vintages. Each of the 700 wines features the principal trio of Champagne varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, though there is considerable variation in terms of exact percentages.

Cuvée No. 745 Grand Vin Extra Brut is an expression of the 2017 vintage. Consisting of Chardonnay 61%, Meunier 21%, and Pinot Noir 18%. The wine is rich and dense and the Cuvée is complimented with some reserve wines. The palate is elegant, dry and fruity with a complex lengthy finish. Two large and old vertical-basket presses feed first press juice to the cellar below. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in large, neutral wooden foudres. Malolactic fermentation is never blocked.
