From Ravine’s newly sourced Gamay block in the Four Mile Creek Appellation. The vines were spur pruned and thinned to get the best quality and concentration of the fruit. This site provides lots of air movement, alluvial soils and sand. It was a great year with the steady heat units needed to develop ripe flavours and cool autumn nights to preserve the freshness and acidity of this wine. This wine was fermented in a temperature controlled vat after a 48 hour cold soak with two delestages per day. Fermented to dry, then malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak (50% old (7-10yr) and 50% 3 year old French barrique) barrels for 18 months.

This light to medium bodied Beaujolais style red wine has a soft round creamy texture, with some depth, and a really nice and lean acidity with the right amount of freshness. On the nose, this wine offers aromas of strawberries and cream and tart cranberry. Vibrant flavours of strawberry, cherry, and savoury plum carry over the palate. The finish on this wine offers refreshing lingering cherry notes, with an a hint of subtle earthinesss that is savoury, and dry.
