Grange is recognized as Australia’s and one of the world’s finest red wines. This famous wine, developed by Max Schubert beginning with the 1951 vintage, is made from low yielding Shiraz vines grown at selected vineyards across Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and Clare Valley of South Australia. The grapes complete fermentation and 18 months of maturation in new American oak hogshead in the cellars at Nurioopta.

This vintage received five perfect 100 point scores.

Familiar flavours of a deconstructed Black Forest Cake/trifle – chocolate, custard, bright wild raspberry; redcurrant. Touches of mushroom pâté and a beefy accompaniment with notes of sarsaparilla whirled into the mix. Also, an assortment of fresh red and black liquorice. Mouthcoating - a confluence of tannin/acidity/oak/fruit – all joyously meshed together. A convex mid-palate that generously supports upfront palate grip and a continuum of delight all the way to lengthy, lingering finish.

This wine will continue to develop for more than 20 years and it is recommended that it be twice decanted for optimal aeration.
