Domaines Landron Le Fief du Breil is a biodynamic monovarietal Melon de Bourgogne white wine from the AOC Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, from the Loire area, produced by Domaines Landron.

Domaines Landron is a family winery founded in 1945 that has cultivated its vineyards ecologically since 1999, and biodynamically since 2006, in order to affirm the identity of the terroir. They vinify by plots and work them so that their differences can be fully expressed. Their wines are known for their freshness, fineness and mineral touches.

The vineyards for Domaines Landron Le Fief du Breil are between 30 and 45 years old. They are trained in single Guyot style and the planting density is approximately 6,800 vines per hectare. The soils of the plots are of orthogneiss and quartz, resulting from granite metamorphism. The average yield is 42 hl/ha, and the grapes are harvested by hand.

The Domaines Landron Le Fief du Breil harvest is pressed whole when it arrives in the cellar. The resulting must is not racked, and goes on to ferment directly with native yeasts. It ferments for about 2-3 weeks and is then aged on lees in cement vats for about 30 months. Lastly the wine is stabilized cold and bottled.

This beautiful Muscadet needs aeration or decanting, then shows aromas of grapefruit skin, pear, lime-flower, candied citrus and almond. The palate is perfectly balanced and intensely mineral - showing ripe white fruits, almond, anise and stone flavors with firm acidity and pronounced flavors of stone and saline mineral.
