Meldville is the virtual winery owned and operated by Derek Barnett. As one of the first to make a push for the low intervention, “natural wine” movement in the Niagara area, it’s encouraging to know that he grows all of the fruit in his own vineyard and makes wine out of Legends winery.

This is a lightly sparkling wine made from Muscat, which is to say that it is floral, fruity and fragrant (how is that for alliteration?) with notes of peach, pineapple and orange peel (almost got there!)

This wine is off-dry but, to be clear, this wine is not a dessert wine, and indeed, the bubbles help the wine be food-friendly.

Get this wine if you have a bit of a sweet tooth and want to sit on a patio eating fresh fruit or flaky pastries. High tea, anyone?
