Twins Mirko and Federica Martini purchased the Gianni Voerzio winery in La Morra from their cousin in 2015. The estate name changed from Gianni Voerzio to Voerzio Martini and a renewal process was initiated to enlarge the winery and add new vineyards. In 2015, the twins purchased an additional hectare and a half in the La Serra cru, and in 2018, the pair acquired a quarter hectare of vines in Monvigliero and a half hectare in Cerequio.

From the vineyard site in La Morra, the Voerzio Martini 2016 Barolo La Serra shows a nose that offers power and a fine intensity. It reveals notes of fleshy/crushed cherry, fleshy/crushed strawberry, small notes of plum associated with fine touches of vanilla, toasted and very discreet hints of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced and offers a fine fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy cherry, violet, small notes of fleshy blueberry associated with fine touches of plum, vanilla and chocolate.
