Ar PePe is a family winery founded in 1984 in the heart of Lombardia, currently run by the three sons of the founder, Arturo Pellizzatti Perego. Named after the church, he was married in Sant' Antonio a Montagna in Valtellina; the wine is a love letter commemorating his anniversary.

Using Nebbiolo (or Chiavennasca, the local name), from vineyards that descend the "Risc di Sassina", a very rocky and steep slope lying 450 metres above sea level, work can only be carried out by hand. The harvest is manual and carried on shoulders, in small baskets, along the trails through the rocks. Fermented in large oak barrels with 45 days of skin-contact maceration, the wine is aged 60 months in large chestnut barrels and spends at least 36 months in the bottle.

This smooth red wine has aromas of violet flowers, wild blackberries, balsamic reduction and hints of tobacco. It is intense, rich and elegant on the palate with vigorous tannins and integrated acidity. With only 500 cases left, this is a rare and romantic example of Valtellina Superiore Reserve.
