Vigneti Zanatta is a twenty-acre property and winery that is owned by Bruno Zanatta, which lies in the northern part of the island of Sardinia Vines are grown all over the island of Sardinia, but this wine is from Gallura (“stony area” located in the northeastern corner). The whole island benefits from the briny nature of the strong, sea air, yet Gallura is particularly unique as the soil is built upon a foundation of granite.

Vermentino (“vur-men-teeno”) is a light-bodied white wine that grows mostly in Italy on the island of Sardinia. Very similar to Sauvignon Blanc. With an intense floral nose, fresh apple, mango, and orange zest. The palate is dry and crisp while displaying notes of yellow apple, apricot, lemon, and briny finish.

When certain grape vines are grown in close proximity to the sea, they gather a certain amount of natural salinity (salt) that adds depth and flavor to the food it accompanies. If you like Sauvignon Blanc, chances are that you will like this wine as well.
