Bandol is a small region that touches the Mediterranean. The region focuses on the Mourvèdre variety, with its opaque purple-black color and intense black fruit flavors. While the region is both famous for fine rosé and red wines, the highlight of Bandol is definitely her reds. These wines are often so intense upon release (with bold tannins and acidity) that they improve greatly with a few years of cellaring.

A blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache and Carignan. This is such a wine of place: it has a sweetly aromatic nose of blackberries, spice, black pepper and meat. A more rustic Bandol, true old-school style and in the fashion of the big, brawny winemaker. Bold dark fruits are rich and velvety, loaded with notes of black olive, wild herbs, dusty earth, and stoney minerality. Notes of mocha and mushroom dance with firm, but well integrated tannins.
