Dal Forno Valpolicella Superiore 2015
The Dal Forno family has been making wine since 1983. Located in Val D’Illasi, the estate consists of 65 acres of vines planted with traditional indigenous varieties of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. Their loose, alluvial soils, meticulous pruning and scrupulous viticultural techniques ensure remarkable-quality grapes. The Dal Fornos use traditional methods to grow the finest fruit, and then employ modern techniques to produce the best wines, classic in expression and modern in purity.
Such a profound nose of fresh and dried fruit with blackcurrants, dates and prunes, together with lighter notes of mild spice and pomegranate seeds. The fresher elements provide the drive on the full palate and, together with very fine, bright, fine-grained tannins, give a long, chewy yet fresh and pruney finish. Super concentrated, rich and sweet, but the balance and poise is impeccable with notes of charred red pepper, oak and spice.
