Pinot Noir from 40 year old vines grown on a steep slope, with marl at the top and clay-limestone at the bottom, and east/south-east exposure. Les Clous got promoted to Premier Cru in 2006. The grapes are hand-harvested. No fining, very lightly filtration. 3,300 bottles produced. A rich, fruity wine to be enjoyed within 3 to 5 years. 13% alcohol. Nose is mineral with raspberries, cranberries, strawberries, menthol and spices. Medium- bodied, dry, ripe tannins with medium+ acidity, it finishes short with some oak and slightly spicy.
