Organized Crime Limestone Block Chardonnay 2018
Organized Crime is a low-production winery hanging over the hillside of the Beamsville Bench in Niagara. This second-generation winery is named after the colloquial story of two rival Mennonite congregations that fought over the merits and evil of a pipe organ before being chucked over the side of the escarpment.
This fresh-faced Chardonnay has all the green apple, lemon zest and freshly cut floral aromas one could ask for. Still, equally, as the label suggests, the limestone soil brings out a chalky character that leads into a savoury and saline finish.
Get this wine if you prefer your Chardonnay unoaked and untampered. Try it with roast chicken and root veg topped with toasted pine nuts.
