Punset Neh! 2018
To say that Marina Marcarino is a special kind of human is a bit of an understatement. Not only is she one of the first recognized female winemakers in Piedmont, but she is also a pioneer in the organic farming movement. As the fifth-generation winemaker, she inherited her 20-acre vineyard and transformed it into a fully organic plot. This happened in 1982 when many significant producers were trying to compete commercially and were abandoning traditional methods/ responsible farming. She is known for having the very first certified Barbarescos in Italy.
A blend of Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo, these local red varieties come together to create a deep and red berry, forward fruit wine that is dry, slightly tannic yet juicy. Neh is a slang word used all across Italy, finishing the sentence on a positive note: ex. “This wine is pretty fantastic, neh!”.
Get this wine if you want to take a tempting glimpse into the world of Piemonte wine and want to reinvigorate a classic pasta bolognese.
