Stratus Red 2017
Stratus Vineyards, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, just down the road from Bar Bea, is known for their flagship wines, Stratus Red and White, which they have been doing consistently since 2001. Using a technique called Assemblage, each of the ten varietals grown on the estate is fermented and aged separately before coming together through a series of blind tastings to create a rich and harmonious wine.
This wine is a carefully curated combination of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Tannat, giving the wine a bold black fruit, licorice and sage that really shine through.
Get this wine if you are into classic Bordeaux but want to drink and support local. Try it with Osso Bucco, or if you are Vegetarian or Vegan, try a wild mushroom “Osso Bucco” style dish. You will not be disappointed by the pairing, I promise.
Stratus Red 2017 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
