Redstone Winery is the third Niagara venture by Tawse and is named after the red soil that the vines are grown in. The 38-acre property is farmed organically and, based on its location on the Niagara escarpment, is a perfect place for late-ripening varietals like Syrah.

Inspired by the wine of Northern Rhone in France, the birthplace of some of the best Syrah in the world, this baby has energy and stamina. It’s full and aged for 16 months in French oak barrels; it has an outstanding balance of dark fruit, white pepper and cedar. It doesn’t have as much meaty pepper spice as you may expect, but it has the acid and body behind it to go with some hearty stew.

Get this wine if you are sitting down to watch any live sporting event with Chile and Nachos. It can handle the energy and distractions in the room!
