Tenuta Cucco Barolo DOCG del Comune di Serralunga 2016
Tenuta Cucco is a historic winery in Serralunga d’Alba, built in the 1800s at the foot of the castle. The wines tell the story of a village where Nebbiolo has reached the highest levels of quality across the centuries. They are wines of the tradition, made without shortcuts, which year after year confirm their extraordinary character, also due to the choice of application of organic methods in the vineyards and the cellar.
The 2016 Tenuta Cucco Barolo del Commune di Serralunga has a classic Barolo bouquet: hints of withered rose, earth, prunes, liquorice and spices. The fruit is sweet, with hints of tobacco and dried herbs. Elegant, intense, tart with a good tannin backbone resulting in a beautifully balanced Barolo. Aged for 24 months in oak barrels followed by a further 12 months in bottle.
